Schrift und Raum
In the seminar "Schrift und Raum", typographic elements were detached from their regular principles and applications. The use of type in space for orientation as well as for explaining and conveying content was analysed. As a spatial medium, type was rethought: we examined and explored possibilities of representing space experimentally and multidimensionally through typographic design. In the process, the typeface was detached from the surface, shapes and geometries were transformed, materiality was played with and new contexts and connections were made visible through the arrangement and function in space.
