Notes on Nationalism (Paul Jochum)

The thesis presents a reworking of George Orwell's 1945 text Notes on Nationalism. The text describes nationalism as emotion, not least because of this it offers an all too contemporary understanding of nationalism in the broader sense. Orwell writes that the emotion he understands as nationalism does not necessarily coincide with what is understood as a nation. This emotion is omnipresent today, as the publication shows through photographs that link contemporary geopolitical events to Orwell's text. (Format: 240x140 mm, Book)
