Spekulative Terrains

Elisa Broß

Speculative Terrains - A Narrative Environment In 2020, for the first time in the history of the Earth, man-made mass exceeded biological mass. At the latest now it becomes clear: Man shapes nature and enters the archive of the earth's crust as another geological layer. In the narrative environment, excavated findings tell of an indeterminate future, while at the same time they carry the signs of the past. What narratives of the Antropocene can be found in these future fossils? What hybrid materials will emerge? Visitors are invited to become part of the scene by uncovering the finds, changing the terrain and leaving traces. The project is based on artificial intelligence generated terms and their definitions. The algorithm makes use of an existing dictionary. A selection of these words forms the basis of the narrative environment. Machine Learning Algorithm: Thomas Dimson Sound design: Sofia Clonn
