Domestic cats and humans have a very special relationship. Cats are dependent on humans on the one hand and are completely free on the other. Relationship between them developed over many years, and even in ancient Egypt cats were not only kept as a useful pet, but also worshiped as a heavenly creature. Ancient writers such as Herodotus, Strabo, Diodor and Cicero reported that the ancient Egyptians held cats in high esteem. Even today the internet is full of cat memes and videos on Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook. What do we find so fascinating, funny and aesthetic about it? Cats look almost human on many motifs. We often put ourselves in the role of cats and interpret them as a being with human characteristics. This project tries to foreground the relationship between cats and humans. It’s like a metamorphosis: a human body fusions with an animal body – they become a perfect couple.
