The starting point and the story of the Video-Installation is a memorial. It was made for a young student who committed suicide by jumping from the administrative court (Hardenbergstrasse) for fear of deportation. It's an encounter with a monument and its resemblance to me in some way. For me a place where my paths somehow cross again. on the street of the school I go to. I watched and watched for a while. Then I started the looking. I dedicate this film to him. A thank you to him. In terms of memories. Altun's death brought no rethinking in German politics. Unfortunately, even today, the dignity of refugees and migrants is violated on a daily basis by discriminatory laws and actions by the authorities.
