The work investigates the relationship between domestic living space and the public world in the open air. While the carpet itself is a symbol of the interior, the design work contrasts with the medium. Hand-woven using an electric tufting gun, the rugs negotiate the importance of staying outside the home at a time when a valid reason was needed to leave it. The carpets were all handmade with an electric tufting-gun.
